Entering Thailand
Passport:
Your passport must be valid at least 6 months from your travel date.
Visa Requirements:
Most visitors can stay up to 60 days without a visa; Germany is included.
Flights to Thailand
Direct Flights :
Direct flights from Germany are available from Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUC) to Bangkok (BKK). Airlines include Thai Airways, Lufthhansa and Condor with a flight time of up to 11hrs.
Note#1: Lufthansa has currently no flights departing from FRA.
Note#2: Condor has not updated their route starting from May ’25 onwards.
Note#3: Night flight recommended
One-Stop Flights:
One–stop flights connect through major hubs like Dubai, Doha, or Singapore. Airlines include Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Singapore Airlines. The total flight time can take 13–18 hrs and is recommendd to safe up to ~30% compared to nonstop flights. Some travelers also prefer to split the flights into two sections
Booking Tips:
Use Google Flights or SkyScanner for easy filtering and price comparisons. Selecting nonstop or one stop and the dates will show you the estimated prices. We recommend you to consider option with flexible travel times or cancelation options to be fully flexible and prepared for any circumstance.
As of 06.12.2024, the direct flight connection from Frankfurt to Bangkok is currently below 800€ which is a very good price tho.
Arrival in Thailand
Arrival in Thailand:
Usually, you will arrive in Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi airport (BKK). From BKK, it will take you around 30-45min to the inner city by Taxi.
There is also a connection arriving in Phuket, South of Thailand. From there, there are tons of flights taking you throughout Thailand and South-East Asia
How much time I need in Bangkok?
From our point of view 3-4 day is a perfect amount of time to spend in Bangkok. Spend one day to explore temples and palaces in the “Old City” district and cruise along the Chao Phraya River. Or you may focus on modern areas such as Silom and Sukhumvit, where skyscrapers risen around Lumphini Park, so called “Bangkok’s Central Park. Or spend time at many markets such as food market, weekend markets or floating markets.
Beach, Mountains or Party?
Everyone is indivually, but Thailand offers many different kind of activities such as beach vacations, hiking in the north of Thailand or Night life in Bangkok or island life. If you have no idea where to go, please ask us we can suggest the plan.
Healthcare
Insurance:
International health insurance is highly recommended. Plans start at around €50/year and usually covers 100% of the medical costs for injuries, hospital stays or illnesses abroad
Hospital:
Thailand offers excellent healthcare facilities, especially in Bangkok and tourist areas. Do not worrry if something happens to you
Cash & SIM Cards
Money:
Credit cards are accepted very well, and ATMs are everywhere. Money exchange is not recommended at the airport, but in the city where you can get a better exchange rate.
SIM Card:
Buy a local SIM or eSIM at the airport to get a mobile data package. A 15–day 30GB plan costs less than 20€. Wi-Fi is available in every hotel and restaurants. Do not worry.

The wedding FAQ
Both! The engagement ceremony will take place outside whereas the reception will be inside.
We would love to see our family and friends dressed up with us! We are requesting cocktail/semi-formal attire for our wedding.
No denim or jeans please!
The W-Hotel is the venue for the wedding and is a very good accommodation. But there are also other options nearby for everyones budget.
Taxi in Thailand is affordable; a 30–minute ride costs less than €5. In case of Hotel recommendation please reach out to us directly.
This is quite personal. Please consider the time difference of +6 against CET. Some people need to overcome a jetlag. One way is to arrive 3-4 days before the wedding and after the wedding head off to another destination.
